Visa and official Letter of Invitation

Visa regulations depend on your nationality and country of origin. We suggest you contact your local Danish Embassy or Consulate for instructions on visa regulations and application procedures. The participant is responsible for obtaining a visa if necessary. A valid passport is required for traveling to Denmark.

CME Credits

WONCA Europe 2016 has been granted with 16 European CME credits by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).

 

Insurance

You are requested to arrange your own health and travel insurance for your stay in Copenhagen.

The insurance should cover all activities during your stay, e.g. activities as the WONCA-RUN 2016 and the practice visit, if you are planning to participate in those activities.

The congress organiser is not responsible for any injuries or damages occurring during the congress nor during your stay in Copenhagen/Denmark.

 

Transportation

Copenhagen has an extensive and reliable network of public transportation. It includes buses, sailing harbor buses, trains and metro.

 

Kastrup airport – Bella Center (congress venue)

The Bella Center is situated between the airport and the city centre. By combining the train and the metro the Bella Center can be reached within 15 minutes. Take the Øresundstog (leaving every 10 minutes) direction Helsingør/ Nivå to Ørestad station (5 minutes). Change to the metro (leaving every 4 minutes) direction Vanløse and get off at Bella Center station (5 minutes). The fare is DKK 24 (€ 3,25).


Kastrup airport – City centre

Trains run every 10 minutes between the airport and the Copenhagen Central Station (Hovedbanegården). The train fare is DKK 36 (€ 4,8). The metro operates 24/7 at 2–6 minute intervals during the day and every 20 minutes during the night. The travel time from the airport to central Copenhagen is approximately 15 minutes. A typical taxi fare between the airport and the city centre is approximately
DKK 200 (€ 26).


City centre – congress venue

The taxi fare from central Copenhagen to the congress venue comes to about DKK 200 (€ 26). Taxis accept credit cards. A metro service is available between the city centre and the Bella Center every 2–6 minutes (duration 10 minutes). The fare is DKK 24 (€ 3,25). Bus 34 runs from Vesterport Station via the Central Station and stops at the Bella Center. Travel time by bus is 20-22 minutes.


Congress venue – Kastrup airport

The Bella Center is situated between the airport and the city centre. By combining the metro and the train the airport can be reached within 15 minutes. All regional trains also stop at Ørestad Station, where you can transfer to the metro to get to Bella Center. The fare is DKK 24 (€ 3,25).

Voltage and plugs

Electricity in Denmark is 220-volt current. Plugs are European standard with two round pins.


Name badges

Entrance to the conference area and to the various social events will be limited to badge holders only. If the badge is lost, please contact the registration desk. A fee of € 7 will be charged for each new badge.


Banks, currency & credit cards

The currency in Denmark is Danish Kroner (DKK). Most hotels and shops accept all major credit cards. Larger shops do also accept Euro. Automated cash machines, which you can use with your credit card, are available all over the city and at the Bella Sky Hotel (next to the conference venue). Banks are open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:00, Thursday to 18:00.


Tipping

Service charges are always included in the bill and extra gratuities are not necessary.
